Yeah thats weird. he really isn't good on backing vocals in Sum 41, but he's actually pretty great as lead vocalist in Gob.

I like his voice. It's kinda unique, but I like it. He's a good fit for backing vocals, especially in The Hell Song imo.

But I agree, why can't Cone sing the backing vocals more? He's the member of the band, so I think he should sing more than Tom. Tom would only come along when there are multiple backing vocals at the same time.

i just think that Toms voice is like nails on the chalkboard, lol

The album is a great heavy metal approached record for those punk guys, which is kinda like Sum's "Chuck", plus "Underground", a super heavy metal song, the heaviest on the record, definitely stands out as a heavy metal song kinda like The Bitter End, so i mean, some could say its not worth listening cuz its like a copy of Chuck, but actually its just a fun album in the same vein.

so far i've only heard soda, and those two gob songs. and i think that soda sucks. :P

that music video was fucked, but the song is really good. i think ill check out that CD.

Yeah, Soda sucks really, and i only listened to it cuz someone posted one of the setlists for one of Sum 41's shows and it said they played Soda in there with Tom on vocals, but the song sucks anyway.

The problem with Tom as a backing vocalist is that he has very little self-control.

He always throws his vocals out there full-force, whereas backing vocalists need to soften it up a bit for it to sound good. Plus, it seems his mic is always turned up too loud, which I guess isn't really his fault.

Dave was an excellent backing vocalist. He accented his vocals in a way that made them flow nicely with Deryck's.

maybe we're just not used to hearing his voice in sum 41 songs beacause before dave did all the backing vocals. i still think deryck should let cone sing. he hardly does anything for sum 41 :(
