I got my Deryck guitar!!!! But I have some questions

Post by Sum41Ant27 »

Ok so this is my first guitar, besides Guitar Hero ones, and I was just messin' around with the guitar last night. I noticed that there's two knobs with numbers on it. What are those for? Also how do I know what to put my amp on to make the guitar sound like more of Sum 41's songs? I'm gettin' one of my firends to teach me guitar. It's gonna be hard cause I have to learn righty and I'm a lefty, but we'll see how it goes. I'll put pics up later if you guys are interested.

Yeah i'd change your guitar if i was you, you can't just learn to play with the oposite hand to what feels natural to you.

or... you could buy a packet of strings and string your guitar upside-down so you can play left handed

One of the knobs is to adjust the guitar's volume, the other is for the tone.

its really not hard to switch it to left..all you gotta do is sand down these little things holding the strings at the end of the neck. but uh...wow, just wow.

i can guarantee you that you will not get the same sound as sum 41, because most likely you are playing through a shitty amp and not thousands of dollars worth of equipment, the best you could do is turn distortion on.

Yeah, one knob for volume and one for tone. You know, you could've figured out the volume one easily by just dinking around with the guitar.

I don't know why you'd by a right-handed guitar if you knew you were left-handed...

Deryck's Guitar is a starter guitar, and I hate it, I wish he'd make the one he ACTUALLY plays instead of downright lying about it.

I think he means the Signature sucks despite everything Deryck said about it sounding good and like the guitar he plays live.

I've only seen Deryck play Underclass Hero songs with it but it still sounds pretty crappy. The tone just seems flat and weak. It's good for beginners because beginners won't give a shit about what sound the guitar has, only that it's Deryck's sig and it must sound good.

Deryck should've at least thrown in a better pickup than the HB-102. I don't know my woods very well, but apparently Agathis is pretty low quality. So, low quality wood + low quality pickup equals low quality sound... I know Deryck wanted to make it affordable but he sacrificed a lot of quality just so fans could buy his axe.

Deryck doesn't use the signature though, he'll be using a proper fender not a squier.
