Fuck this shit. I just listened to Uno two weeks ago, planned to listen to Dos on Christmas, and Tre on my birthday in March.

How am I going to accomplish that now? :glad:

NME Reviews DOS!: http://www.nme.com/blog/index.php?blog= ... more=1&c=1

Their verdict? Not mind-blowing, but better than UNO!. I thought the tracks Ashley and Baby Eyes would be pretty throwaway middle-of-the-album type material, but this review focusses on Fuck Time and Nightlife as the weakest songs on the album.

In other news, the video for The Forgotten will be premiered on MTV in about an hour. I'll post it here when it's up.

EDIT: Holy shit. Here it is.

I don't want to spoil anything, but the preview definitely misses out a lot. :holyshit:

Jesus that song was terrible (The Forgotten), way to slow and it just doesn't seem Green Day like. I'm sorry, not looking forward to Tre if it's going to be like this...

It's a ballad and the closing song of the Trilogy. How can you criticise a ballad for being slow? On that logic, you must see Crash as Sum 41's worst ever song. And this sure as hell is better than Crash. I don't mind people criticising music with sound justification, but saying a song is awful because it's a ballad? That's just illogical.

Haha, yeah that was damn stupid comment indeed. I think Forgotten is damn good ballad, much better than Crash for sure. And I really dig the guitar solo, I was kinda hoping for it after hearing the snippet and it's just perfect.

Boring and uninspired; much like a lot of Green Day's songs of the past decade.

It's only illogical if you like other ballads though. Maybe he doesn't?

No I actually like Crash a lot. I just don't think it's good, The Forgotten. I guess I was looking for a "Wake Me Up When September Ends" type song. I don't like 21 Guns either. Idk I'll listen to the song if I listen to the cd in full, but it's not my favorite or anywhere near it.

Haha, that is hilarious.

Fun fact: The Basket Case video was originally shot in black and white, and then digitally coloured-in. That's why it looks so messed up.

Edit: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/artists/green-day Rolling Stone Green Day article timeline. Interestingly, 21st Century Breakdown is their highest scoring album with 9/10, compared UNO! with 8/10 and Insomniac, Nimrod and American Idiot each getting 7/10.

Welp, finished the album. Pretty much what I expected - Fuck Time and Lazy Bones are my favourites, though I also really liked Makeout Party, Stray Heat and Baby Eyes. Wasn't excited about Wild One from the preview and I still think it's a pretty 'meh' song. I still don't like Nightlife at all, but I don't ever expect that to change. Wow! That's Loud kinda of disappointed me - I was expecting something like MCR's Vampire Money, but the sound wasn't particularly high-energy and about a minute of it was just feedback and distortion. Nevertheless, this and Amy were a decent end to the album. I have complete confidence in saying that, like Uno, the first half of the album felt far superior to the second, although there were a couple of good track near the end. Most epic moment of the album for me would either be the chorus of Fuck Time or solo of Makeout Party. Or the whole of Lazy Bones, haha.
