Updating My Blackberry OS

Hey, so I've been having problems with my Blackberry for a few weeks now. It randomly restarts for no reason, sometimes when I'm writing a text or just having the phone idle. I searched the internet for troubleshooting and apparently I need to upgrade the OS? Does anyone know how to do that?

I thought I'd ask here first before venturing out into the net since the forum is kind of dead, I thought any kind of activity would be beneficial, haha.

i saw a hammer in construction class today that had "MC" written on it.

but about your phone, can't you just take it to the store you got it or some other store that sells your phone and tell them what's up and maybe you can get a new one? i have no idea, cause i've never owned a phone but its worth trying, right?

Blackberry? Throw it off the roof of a 30-story building, and you'll be oookaaaaaay. =)
Seriously, though, I don't know. I've never owned one.

If you've still got the warranty, take it and your phone back to the store you got it, maybe they'll be able to fix it.
How long does its warranty last?

Yeah, that's what I plan on doing tomorrow. I have to make a forty minute drive into the city just for that though, but whatever. I feel so naked without my cellphone for some reason, haha. It's got Facebook on it too, so it gives me a reason to not have to be on my laptop so much.

They'll probably send it out to get fixed or something and just hand me a loaner phone. I just hope I don't lose all my contacts, pictures and ringtones.

I think the warranty on it was a year. I'm pretty sure I got my phone in January too, so hopefully it's still valid.

If you want to update you phone OS (they call it frimware on a phone btw) then go to the blackberry website.

EDIT: I found it for you and I even search the North American one just for you.

Yeah, I tried this last night. I used the Desktop Manager for Mac because I have a MacBook, but my phone is stuck on this "JVM Error 545" page and my phone doesn't seem to be able to connect to the DM.

EDIT: Well, I tried it not too long ago and it was able to connect. I chose the latest version of firmware for the phone, but it was taking so damn long to update. After five minutes the progress bar was still empty and I don't know if that's normal, but then I got a message that my device got disconnected (I think it reset itself again).

I took the battery out this time. Hopefully it works.
