Sum41.com Make Over / Suggestions?

I think they key to making fans happy is a website with music, downloads, news updates, and a merch store that actually includes merch. Maybe a spot for lyrics. I don't know. Just making a flashy website with those things included is good enough for most fans. I rarely go to a bands website anymore unless I want a link to the merch spot.

Not completely. TNS updates with absolutely every single move the band makes. If Deryck brushes his teeth, it's updated here (obviously not THAT detailed, but you understand). The difference would be that the Sum 41 site would have news updates on major news things.. like album release dates and tour announcements. Maybe it would include posted updates from the band (much like we get from time to time). The difference is, they probably wouldn't post each and every warped tour video update... but maybe they would. They wouldn't post about Deryck's divorce... just big SUM41 related news.

Matt told me a month or so ago that he was trying to get the label to fix the site.

I say the main thing is a more organize Q&A

They should probably link a lot of the fansites for other countries too, like Sum41 France, Italy..etc, Evan Taubenfeld did that on his main site.

The "members" thing really doesn't make sense, unless you want to interact in the Q&A, so maybe more member oriented items like the rare downloads that someone talked about or % off of merch.

Personally, the music player drives me nuts because it re-starts every time you click on a new page.

Someone said bios, that would be cool, or like they each write a little message to the fans

And about the graphics, maybe they could have some kind of contest where fans submit banners and they change it every two weeks or something.

It just has to more accesible for the band members. I don't know if it is right now, but I don't think so.

It's been mooonths since someone answered a question, for example.

It should be more 'theirs' and not the label's.

I would also love it if the autoplay was turned off. Sometimes I like to visit their site while I listen to music =/

1. Definately a link to TNS where more fans could communicate here since no one uses the community on Sum41.com
2. A Daily photo. On the side of the homepage somewhere each day it could show a different photo from the photo gallery.
3. Updated merch store *cough* i guess this may happen when the album drops sometime though.
4. I think it would be cool if there was a quote from the band or members showing while browsing certain pages throughout the website.
5. A chatbox, maybe?
6. A different Q&A section. Sometimes my questions never even go through.
7. Definately a bio, telling everything from their early beginings right here in Ontario or more specifially, Ajax, haha.
8 A bio of each band member that can include random questions such as "favourite show ever". Doesn't even have to be band related.
9. Maybe a section for fan art/pictures with The Sums. I know a lot of band websites do this.
10. Fun stuff like trivia/facts

I also agree with whoever mentioned contests! I'm down for that, haha.

Naw, that has nothing to do with the site. It's the label's decision when it gets released.

New thought, after seeing Devin Bronson's new site I think they should have a gear section, we've already got a partial one from a few months ago when we worked on D's guitar list. Devin's includes his instruments, effects, studio, & live set up

Makes sense. With that in mind, it would be in our best interest to keep TNS unofficial. I think we'd have more freedom that way.
