not my "top 5" favourite songs, but they're awesome regardless.

Against Me! "From her Lips to God's Ears"
Tom Gabel (singer of Against Me!) "Anna is a (FUCKING) Stool Pigeon"
Gaslight Anthem "Red in the Morning" (bobbyjames already posted this, but it's SO GOOD, it HAS to be posted twice!!!)
-ignore the video, unless you love snow.

Rush "The Spirit of Radio"
Queen "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" (awesome walking bassline)

this thread is good, Bobby and Janet just helped me discover some new music(I listened to all of it), cause I'm much more into the oldies these days, but these bands are cool, and I only knew like 5 of them ... so I'm gonna post some older shit, now, in case somebody's interested in old music

The Stone Roses - I am the Resurrection
The Stooges - I Wanna Be Your Dog
Television - Marquee Moon (One of the most interesting songs(and bands) I've heard in a long time)
The Kinks - You Really Got Me
The Velvet Underground - Sunday Morning (Artists like David Bowie, R.E.M., The Cars, The Strokes, Beck, The Fall and Pixies were influenced by this band)
The Smiths - How Soon Is Now?

The Lonely Island - Like a boss (Gotta love the lonely island)
Maroon 5 - Hands all over (EPIC BAND)
30 Seconds to Mars - Hurricane (This song is the epitome of awesome)

here's just a list of 5 artists everyone should probably listen to, and i guess some youtube videos as well.
THIS IS NOT MY 5 FAVORITE ARTISTS / ETC. just a list of songs artists you should probably check out, and a song from each cuz that's the nature of this thread.

Balance and Composure - Alone For Now seriously, this band is fucking amazing. 20x better than anything Sum 41 has made in the past 5 years at least.
Boys Night Out - Medicating You can't really understand the point to this song without actually listening to the rest of the album... it tells a story. I would suggest checking out the full "Trainwreck" album... but they're fucking amazing. The older music they made used to be much more "punk rock" and "hardcore" than the current tracks, but this album really is probably the best work they ever did.
Lower Definition - To Satellite If you like post-hardcore style music, bands like Chiodos, Blessthefall, etc... this band probably has a sound better than any of the current post-hardcore bands in the "scene" today. So fucking good.
Close Your Eyes - The Body This band is similar to the A Day To Remember style bands... but I promise you they have a much stronger sound than any of them. This band is legit, and should be huge soon enough. Very religious based, but you feel like you're part of their family when you're listening to their record... I can't explain it better than that... I highly suggest listening to the full length and give them a chance... listen to the lyrics, hear his amazing vocals, hear the beautiful music... just fantastic record... this song even is just fantastic.
Tides of Man - Not My Love 2 This vocalist is fantastic. He is actually now in the band Saosin. I can't wait to hear some Saosin stuff with him on vocals. He is currently touring with Emarosa as the lead vocalist. Fantastic voice. Quite a talented band this is/was.
