Hey Skumfuks!
Believe" is the working title of a Sum 41 song. This song is unfinished at the moment, but you can hear a bit of it on a Studio Update made by the band, while they were recording Screaming Bloody Murder http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSLXLiT6V_E
Thanks to the interview Heather of FansiteConnection and TheresNoSolution sent to Deryck, we know that this song wasn't released because there was something missing in it.
The line "I don't believe in ignorance no more, ourselves we deceive" is in the verse of the song. That's all we know for now.
We believe (no pun intended) that this song a lot of potential, and we'd like to tell Deryck to keep working on this song, and not leave it unfinished.
We created a Facebook page and a Twitter account to gather as many people as we can, and to show the guys that a lot of people would love to hear a new song, especially this one.
We haven't heard anything new since the release of Screaming Bloody Murder, and a new song could help us to wait until the next album (like Always which was released after Underclass Hero, or Skumfuk, which was released before Screaming Bloody Murder).
We hope that the band will pay attention to this project, as the fans would be delighted to hear something new. It could also be easier for them to release it, considering that they don't have a label anymore.

Disagreed. Things like this can't hurt. Especially since Deryck's been so much more attentitive and giving to the fans- I think he actually might consider this if the word gets out. The only problem is when will he have the time?Gregorovich wrote:Not that I don't want the song or anything, but this is a stupid idea.
I think Believe is going to be awsome. I know Always is AMAZING.

Re: We want 'Believe' (Sum 41)
This is true. But you have to remember that he doesn't write songs for the fans, he writes for himself. If he didn't think the song was good enough to get finished, I don't think he would force himself to finish it after over 2 years of writing/recording it. Also, excluding Subject To Change, he doesn't really like going back to old songs. Instead, he prefers to create something new.cladam41 wrote:Especially since Deryck's been so much more attentitive and giving to the fans.
But, never say never.

I don't see the harm in it. For the band to know that we want to hear this song might motivate Deryck to finish it. That being said, I wouldn't want him to do a half-assed job on it either just because he has people wanting the song.Gregorovich wrote:Not that I don't want the song or anything, but this is a stupid idea.
PS, I didn't think Always was that amazing. Musically it sounded great and the energy was there. The lyrics weren't the greatest.

Yea, the instrumental part is great though! I think it's one of the most emotional songs up to date. It beats With Me in my opinion.Jeremy Kill wrote: PS, I didn't think Always was that amazing. Musically it sounded great and the energy was there. The lyrics weren't the greatest.
And Tomi- Deryck hasn't WRITTEN anything new yet. So obviously there's not going to be any "new" material from Sum 41 yet. So I think Deryck might just do this one thing for us. Once again- it's mostly a matter of WHEN he's going to have the time..

Re: We want 'Believe' (Sum 41)
I know that, but when I suggested them to release a B-side album, he said that they don't have enough songs for that, and he doesn't feel like going back to work with old songs, and that he prefers to create new stuff from scratch. Don't shoot the messenger, but to me it sounds unlikely that he would start working with that song. But like I said, you never know for sure with this band.cladam41 wrote:And Tomi- Deryck hasn't WRITTEN anything new yet. So obviously there's not going to be any "new" material from Sum 41 yet. Re: We want 'Believe' (Sum 41)
Maybe their is not a lot of things left to do on this song. I don't want Deryck to work his ass off either but if the songs is almost over, it would be cool for the fans to release it

Re: We want 'Believe' (Sum 41)
It'd be incredible if they released another B-side from SBM, both the songs in those clips sound awesome.
Deryck probably doesn't have a whole lot of time for that, considering they are currently touring, but maybe if enough support is built for it, then after touring he might see the demand and decide to do it :P
