That would be awesome.
I love the feel of hearing a track the first time, it's epic.

True. Just listened to We're The Same for the first time few days ago. Gave me chills.

Sum41/SBM Discussion!

Post by 182sins »

That's the way I should've listened to We're The Same: way after the SBM release. I listened everything at once, and I was quite "disappointed" when I first heard it. It's a great song, but it doesn't fit the SBM character, it sounds more like a UH bonus track

To me, We're The Same is so awesome! It's way too good to be a B-side. Then again, I see why they left that out, since it doesn't really fit in with the rest of the album.

But it really has a Coney feel to it. Some Operation MD vibes here and there, but still Sum 41-ish.
Deryck's vocals surprised me again. Damn he's talented!

We're the Same is fucking trash. Easily worst among any SBM song. Most generic song I think I have ever heard by Sum 41.

More generic than No Apologies or This is Goodbye? I think those are worse b-sides than We're the Same. I really like the vibe of the song, although the chorus is quite lame. The solo's nice though, Deryck's a good noodler, haha. However, it doesn't fit at all with anything from the album. The closest would be the two rock and roll tracks, but that's it.

Sorry! They're not terrible, but they're just cookie-cutter to me. Like predictable lyrics and themes... etc. After all, that's the reason they're b-sides in the first place!

same. I didn't find the UH bonus tracks for around a year after the release, it was a lot better that way.

No Apologies has gotta be a Green Day song played backwards or something...it's a good song though.
