So I dunno if you guys know this band.. I just recently got into them, and apparently they're one of the first metalcore/post-hardcore of this decade, active as far as 2001.
Just got to hear their first album "A Tragedy in Progress" and it's poor brilliance, although the sound isn't the best. Didn't have the chance to check their other albums yet but I heard they're not as good and they are with a different singer and line-up, though they recently reunited under the name A Tragedy in Progress (the name of their first album) with that same line-up of the first album and released an EP last January, which is also good.
From their new EP (its acutally a remake of a song from the debut album):
Classics from the debut album:
Let me know what you guys think.

Re: Across Five Aprils
I think they are decent since they are far from original.
Some songs feel a kind of flat too.
Other than that, i like it.

Re: Across Five Aprils
Yeah listening to them now feels really not so special after all the bands we know in this style and genre and all.. but they are one of the first, so you have to understand that many of the bands that are successful today in this whole breakdown based core scene took inspiration from them... so it's kinda amazing that they're one of the first bands with such breakdowns and all.

Re: Across Five Aprils
A Tragedy In Progress is an emocore masterpiece but I don't really like the other A5A albums. The Tragedy In Progress' EP is kinda mediocre.

They're pretty good but I never get into bands that have a different singer than before. I don't like that.

Well, I haven't listened to any further album than the first one, so I dunno how they sound with a different singer, but friends told me not even to try that. Don't care much, I'm enjoying this material and that's all. Also the new EP cuz it's the same line up and all.

Re: Across Five Aprils
lol xD Yellowcard only started to get good when Ryan Key joined the band in my opinion. But they only had like 2/3 albums with a different singer and I don't listen to those :) I'm sorry, that's just how I feel. And there's no need to list all the bands with different singers than before :Pblackhawk1105 wrote:Yellowcard?lisaNL wrote:They're pretty good but I never get into bands that have a different singer than before.
