Hi
What are some good versatile distortion pedals? 'cause I want to buy a distortion pedal but something under $80, maybe something like a Boss DS-2 or maybe a Digitech Hot Head, but I can't try them 'cause I'll order them from US.
I'd really appreciate some help, 'cause I'm really bored of my amp's built-in distortion (Roland Cube 20x).
Thanks

Re: Distortion Pedals
Blackstar distortion pedals are supposedly very good but I'm not sure how expensive they are.

Re: Distortion Pedals
Backed hard, I spent years jumping between all the boss and digitech pedals and the thruth is they all suck, I spent 120 pounds on my blackstar but i got one of the more high end models, but you will be looking over 100 dollars, but it is so worth the money. Dosent have to be a black star but get a distortion pedal with a valve / tube in and y ou will never look backMax wrote:Blackstar distortion pedals are supposedly very good but I'm not sure how expensive they are.

Re: Distortion Pedals
An Ibanez Tube Screamer could be a good choice. And avoid the Digitech pedals!
Got a no-string guitar, got a SUNN Beta head, I'm a rock and roll star,

i agree with the general consensus. boss and digitech arent all that great. but then again what you pay is what you get. im currently using a rothwell hellbender for overdrive, but if you want distortion, go for the rothwell switchblade. these are boutique pedals hand made in the uk. and they sound amazing.

Re: Distortion Pedals
ummmm what type of music do you play?
i dunno what your amp is, but amp distortion is usually better. but if you have a small solid state amp, or no way to turn between clean and distortion with a pedal, then yeah distortion pedal will be better. i could never use a distortion pedal again after using my amp. they sound so shit. maybe use one to boost the distortion but not distortion on its own
i recommend Vox bulldog. its a valve distortion pedal. they're great, and vox distortion is great in general. so yeah i recommend that

Re: Distortion Pedals
I would get a Boss MD-2 or a MXR Pedal.
