avril's album already leaked though.

plus it's not necessarily that a bigger artist is less likely to leak. i think on bigger labels, the album is distributed more before the release. also bigger labels means more people, which is more likely more chances of leaks. a smaller/independent label can have protection because less people hear of the album, or less people care.

Avril's album is due next week, so the leak has come pretty late.
I'm not working for a label, so yeah I really don't know how it works, but I suppose Avril's record has been protected a lot, even if sent to a lot of different people. I think it's a matter of "luck" after all.

oh, okay, i misunderstood. you were talking about in relation to actual release date, so yeah, avril's album leaked pretty late. i honestly forgot she had an album coming out though. but similarly, dropkick murphys' album is due out on the first, and it still hasn't leaked yet.

and there have been albums that did not leak, the ones i remember are 'pin points and gin joints' by the bosstones and 'varuna' by republic of wolves. but i think that's because the bosstones were on a small label and the republic of wolves were unsigned.

but i'm pretty sure this one will leak before the north american date. japan gets the album almost a week earlier.

Yep you're right, the Jap edition is out on the 23rd, so it may leak before that!

I really enjoyed the interview. This last line particularly is very beautiful:

"When there's a shitty day I just don't give a shit - I know tomorrow'll probably be one of the best days of my life."

I might as well status it.

The painkiller part was very interesting. I guess he is much better off just going for the booze instead and he doesn't have to worry about complications/overdoses as long as he stays below his alcoholic-threshold. But since he doesn't even seem to be able to become addicted to cigarettes, I don't see a big problem there.

speaking as someone who has been addicted to pain killers after being prescribed on many different occasions, pain killers are a whole other monster and not something to take lightly, he's taking a smart move, i still deal with pain but it's better than being addicted anymore, i admire his strength in the matter
