Skumfuk (Acoustic Cover) ...Kinda
I felt like recording something tonight so I quickly laid down the chorus of Skumfuk. I kinda like it so I may do a full acoustic cover. What do you peeps think? If I end up doing the cover, it will be better quality than this recording. Listen in HD bitchez!
Re: Skumfuk (Acoustic Cover) ...Kinda
Well, this is exactly how I would've covered it as well. Slower, more intimate, more... I don't know... Vulnerable.
I like it, I'm hoping for a full length, to be honest.
What did you use to make your voice sound this way?

you're overusing auto-tune & voice editing programs or whatever it is

What do you use to record your vocals?

Why would you want to know that? They sound so unnaturalBrandonCorey wrote:What do you use to record your vocals?

I've been recording myself and other people for some time now. After much research and experience I've learned a lot techniques they use in actual studios. What you are hearing is a layering technique. You record your voice 3 times, pan 1 take to the left, keep on in the middle, and pan the other to the right.Lars wrote:What did you use to make your voice sound this way?
Really? Cause there's no autotune. Did you listen in HD? There is a big difference, the non-HD one may be misleading.spiROZE wrote:you're overusing auto-tune & voice editing programs or whatever it is

I'm 100% sure that the voice is somehow edited. Either autotune or effects. I prefer clean voicesNic wrote:Really? Cause there's no autotune. Did you listen in HD? Hmm, clean vocals don't exist. For example every single sum41 song have vocal effects.. :espiROZE wrote:I'm 100% sure that the voice is somehow edited. Either autotune or effects. Re: Skumfuk (Acoustic Cover) ...Kinda
true but the voice in this clip is more edited than the sum41 songs.. it's just overedited IMOsamueeL wrote:Hmm, clean vocals don't exist. Re: Skumfuk (Acoustic Cover) ...Kinda
No shit it is edited lol...Every professionally-recorded vocal you hear today will have effects on it. Whether it is just a bit of EQ, reverb, or echo, it will still have an effect. And as for auto-tune, believe it or not, Sum 41 uses it to. They just use it to fix the small pitch flaws rather than using it on the whole take. It is an industry standard.spiROZE wrote:I'm 100% sure that the voice is somehow edited. Either autotune or effects. I prefer clean voicesNic wrote:Really? Cause there's no autotune. I'm just saying that you can hear it too well in this fragment. I can't hear it on the sum41 albums that it's edited so hard.

Re: Skumfuk (Acoustic Cover) ...Kinda
If there was a full band behind my vocals, you wouldn't be able to hear it too. It's just because it is so stripped down. Vocals + Guitar.spiROZE wrote:I know...Nic wrote:No shit it is edited lol...Every professionally-recorded vocal you hear today will have effects on it. LoL. There are low-quality YouTube videos posted all the time, and people give good comments on them.
Now when someone does a bit more effort on his/her performance, people prefer to hear a low quality version instead?
