It's pretty casual. Didn't expect any cool old school Offspring punk song, pretty solid for being just some chill out alternative rock song.

Re: The Offspring debut ''Days Go By''
the offspring is THE BAND that got me to really give a shit about music and for easily my first 3 or 4 years of really listening to music, i obsessed over them. i mean, like i loved this band. owned all their cds and dvds (still do, actually), played them on the drums and on guitar and in my car, everything. and then i matured musically and ventured out to other bands, but still eagerly awaited rafrag when it was about to launch. and then it dropped. and so did my respect for this band. the offspring (again, THE band that got me into music) have become pathetic. this song is atrocious and as bad as anything you'd expect from nickelback, shinedown, hinder, etc. i'll still buy this album but after rafrag and hearing this single, i already know it's gonna be shit. i'll still listen with an open mind, but i mean this shit is just pathetic. i hate it when people go "oh this band should really just stop, they haven't been relevant since insert year hear," cuz that's the shit people do with the sums, and (with the exception of uh), they keep getting better. but the offspring really should stop making ass-awful music and staining their legacy with this trash cuz their new material is garbage and it's actually kinda sad.

^ Serious dude? This song's pretty good. If Nickelback put out a song like this they wouldn't get insulted so much.

It's a good song no doubt, but it doesn't sound like The Offspring at all.

Re: The Offspring debut ''Days Go By''
The fucking Offspring released a fucking joke song as a single for Austrialia
Seriously before I post the link, I must warn you that it is a joke song.
A fucking song called, "Cruising California (Bumpin' In My Trunk)"
Yes, use your imagination before you click the link.
http://www.triplem.com.au/sydney/music/ ... -g71h.html
Now, I personally was laughing through out the entire song because this does not sound like a Offspring song at all. Not a chance in hell (okay, maybe the reference to PF(FAWG). But still!)
The sad thing is, I can see this blowing up in America's pop charts -_-
Let the shitstorm commence!
Edit: I can not bring myself to share this on anymore forums. I'm still a fan of The Offspring, but I seriously feel like I can not defend this album anymore because of this song... Now we know they might have a few more joke songs (I hope to God they're nothing like this).

Re: The Offspring debut ''Days Go By''
OH MY GOD, that california whatever the fuck song is SOOOOO BAD. seriously, this is shaping up to be one of the saddest albums i'll ever listen to. allow me to quote like the only youtube comment i've made in years that i recently posted on their days go by video:
"it's kinda sad, but i have lost all respect for what the band that got me into music in the first place has become. i get it, bands change. some get heavier, some mature and write more ballads, some venture into new genres. i don't really give a fuck how a band progresses, just as long as they get better, or at least stay relatively as good as they once were. but the offspring have become a complete joke and have gotten monumentally worse. after rfrg i can't say this was unexpected, but damn."
so that's how sad i was upon hearing the single, but THIS SONG? WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!?!?!

I really don't think the California song should be taken seriously at all. And they have always had weird songs on their records.

Times like these - Foo Fighters, the main riff it's really similar. The thing that i hate is that this song will be played on the radio more than SBM, that is milions times better. Sad world.

Re: The Offspring debut ''Days Go By''
while i don't think "days go by" is a bad song, it could be better. I like it a lot better than some of the songs on Rage and Grace, and it's better than a tonne of shitty songs on the radio.
Crusin California... clearly a joke song, its gonna be interesting if this song becomes a single.
on the bright side, The Offspring has said they may do a series of shows in small clubs where they play all of Ignition.
