Re: This could change EVERYTHING :O
it's just mind blowing how if this is proven correct, it will completely crash Einstein's theory of relativity and the basic laws of physics scientists have been going by for over 100 years. if it's proven correct!

Re: This could change EVERYTHING :O
old info for me, I've first heard about Neutrinos in X-Files, it was just a theory, a possibility in X-Files, then I heard it was almost proven from Morgan Freeman, let's wait what the Japanese say, I trust them more XD
no, but srsly, watch Through The Wormhole, especially the episode where they say that a plumber have won the black-hole war, the one who conceded defeat was Stephen Hawking, whose theory was smashed to pieces by the plumber

Well. Something similar happened in the USA like 4 years ago, except it was still within their margin of error and no one took any notice. CERN's error margin is smaller, however.

Re: This could change EVERYTHING :O
yeah, I wonder if it will prove itself right, the knowledge about neutrinos has been exceeding for quite some time, from assumptions of it's existence in 1930 to the first detection of it somewhere between 1950 and 1970, I think they were detecting it in underground mines ... but what I mean is that Neutrinos have been a part of physics for a long time, yet we might have found the most important thing about them just now, I mean, we know they have no electric charge, but scientists have always thought that they traveled somewhere near the speed of light, thought there were many theories that Neutrinos can go faster ...
and a lot of people say that it will change the whole laws of physics as we know it, but I'm more interested in the real meaning of the statement, like how the discovery will affect the world, if scientists will find a way to work with neutrinos some way, that's why I'm gonna read a shit called Possibilities of the practical use of Neutrinos
the most interesting question for me is if this kind of radiation could be used dangerously, cause if it can, it will be, I have some faith in the nature of the human race in this :)
