That's awesome! You've got a great voice.
For how long have you been singing/playing guitar?

Re: been a while
thanks guys, happy to hear you liked it and think I'm improving
@Shelley I use to sing in church when I was younger (not anymore), and started playing guitar/writing 3 years ago. I also took piano lessons when I was younger but got sick of being told what to play, I picked it back up again a couple weeks ago, still working on the song though

Re: been a while
I hope you'll buy better mic some day, I'd really like to hear that song in better quality. After 5 listens it sounds kinda like mix of Avril Lavigne & Paramore

Re: been a while
^^thanks, I really appreciate it
yeah, choir sounds can be awesome if done right. I use to sing with my family, they has been doing it for years as a quartet, then got the grandchildren involved..lol. I also did some duets with my mom
I'm uploading another song that is REALLY simple, but I just love it for some reason:

I really liked it! Hard to make out some of the lyrics, but the melody is great. You're a really good songwriter.

Re: been a while
Wow, what a great song! And I mean not just the "have to be nice to a girl" kind of great, but actually an amazing songwriting and composition. I say this because I'm pretty much exactly like that:
I (try to) write songs myself, Deryck is also my biggest influence, when I was younger I sang in the school choir and even at two quite big concerts as well as in an animation movie, I started learning guitar about 2 years ago and I also picked up some piano skill (started out trying Pieces after hearing the piano version for the first time). Before that, I only played drums.
I could probably also write a song like this one in no time, but the fact that you actually did it and recorded it, while I still don't have one single finished song, is what impresses me most. And I was surprised by how well and strong you sing. The vocals' dynamics are perfect for the song, just a tiny little pitch shakiness, which is still amazing for one take. Damn, I really like your voice! I wish the audio quality was better..
What do you usually do with those songs? Seems so natural, as if you do this every day.

Re: been a while
@Jer, thanks bud! your stuff is great so its really nice to hear you say that.
@Simon I come up with a melody on the guitar and lyrics just kind of come. I usually have the most problems with 2nd verses..lol..There are like 4 that I really like, but are missing a 2nd verse. I have a bunch of full songs, some not so great, some really cool. I just play them in my room. I wrote one about a school paper topic this semester and performed if for extra credit. I did the same thing about 2 years ago, so it comes in handy for school haha. I really hope to get better recording equipment in the future. I say just go for it, my first song only had 2 notes, but you gotta start somewhere.
